The Care Event Report's main purpose is to communicate specific service user care events and care data to selected care providers.

The Identifier Global datatype flavour is used to carry this information as follows:

  • The root attribute shall contain a DCE UUID.

A SnomedCT code specifying the PSIS event type .

The Concept Descriptor (CD) dataype shall be used to carry this information as follows:

  • The code attribute shall contain a code from the relevant vocabulary
  • The code System attribute shall contain the OID for SnomedCT
  • The display text shall carry a description associated with the code in SnomedCT
  • the original text attribute may be used if required
  • qualifier(s) may be used if required.

The date and time the care event report is created.

Refers to the patient who is the subject of the care event report.

The person who is the patient the root care event is concerned with. Only new permanent NHS numbers can be used to identify patients.

Refers to the person or department responsible for authorising the care event report. This participation is referred to as the author of the care event message payload.

The default value of "OP" indicates that the association adds to the existing context associated with the Act, and will propagate to any descendant Acts reached by conducting ActRelationships.

A focal act category classifies the business context of a clinical statement.

Each clinical statement may be categorised by one or more headings in FocalActCategory.

Each FocalActCategory used must 'contain' at least one clinical statement. 

The category should not add any information to the statement it categorises.

A CRE category that classifies a clinical statement. 

All clinical statements shall be classified by one and only one CRE category.

 Note :- Each CRE Type can only appear once and 'contains' all the clinical statements it classifies.  A CRE Type that is present in a message instance will always classify at least one clinical statement in that message instance, i.e. if there are no statements for a particular CRE Type present in a message instance, the CRE Type concerned will not appear in that message instance.
